The 2022 football season may seem far away, but there are plenty of other reasons to make a trip to T-Town! From festivals that celebrate the town’s rich history to cultural exhibitions to concerts and more, Tuscaloosa is full of great events that will keep you coming back season after season. Here are a few of our favorites for 2022.

Are you all U of A, all the time? Then you’ve got plenty of opportunities to watch the boys of baseball duke it out on the diamond. There are over 30 home games in the 2022 season, with many of them hosting some of our most iconic SEC rivals.

The U of A Softball girls are always guaranteed to put on a good show. Catch one of their many 2022 home games to watch them take on teams like Virginia Tech, Missouri, Texas, and Georgia.

Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center
The 5th annual Tuscaloosa Heritage Festival is a cultural celebration that features live music, dance, and various cuisines from different cultures. The 2022 theme is “Tuscaloosa Sister Cities” and includes cultural exhibitions from Schordorf, Germany; Sunyani-Techniman, Ghana; and Narashino, Japan.

May 20-21, 2022
This fun two-day festival celebrates the unique arts and humanities within the Tuscaloosa community by showcasing original artwork and live music from more than 100 of the area’s best local artists. This year’s event will also feature educational demonstrations, children’s art activities, and food concessions.

Lake Lurleen State Park
This fun kid-friendly triathlon event promotes a healthy, active lifestyle for kids while supporting Secret Meals for Hungry Children. Race distances are beginner-friendly and children of all ages and abilities are encouraged to attend. Awards will be given to the top 3 boys and girls in each age group.

July 21, 2022
Enjoy a boot-stompin’ good time with tunes from one of the biggest names in country music today. Special guests include Parker McCollum and Conner Smith.
October 15-16, 2022
This annual event in nearby Northport is a two-day festival featuring more than 260 artists, live music, spoken word, activities for children, folk and contemporary art demonstrations, food trucks, local craft brews, and more. One of the most popular festivals in the area, it was named a top-ten state event by the Alabama Department of Tourism in 2018!

Of course, T-Town’s top event is U of A football – and this year’s schedule is a show-stopper. Not only is the Auburn game at home in Tuscaloosa this year, but you can also catch games against Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, and more at the Stadium.
